Amazon.ca
I am recommending that all U.S. residents
that want to buy DVDs at Amazon.com try their new Canadian site Amazon.ca. The main reason is that prices on the Amazon.ca website are in Canadian dollars, and your
purchase is converted to U.S. dollars by
your credit card company. What this means
is that you get an extra savings because
of the exchange rate.
To get the price of a product in US dollars
you need convert the Canadian price you find
on the Amazon.ca site. I use this currency converter.
Amazon.ca F.A.Q.
Is there a "Share The Love Program "
at Amazon.ca?
No
If I already have an account at amazon.com
do I need to reregister at Amazon.ca?
No
Will I get charged customs fees from ordering
from Amazon.ca?
As long as your order is under $400, No.
What is the difference between
a Canadian
and U.S. DVD?
Usually, they are exactly the same as both
Canadian and U.S. DVDs are region 1 DVDs.
Differences are usually minior such as French
subtitles rather than Spanish subtitles.
In some rare cases, the cases look different,
or there are slightly different extra features.
How does the CDN to US conversion work?
You are charged when the item is shipped,
at that time your CC company will do the
conversion.
